INGREDIENTS

¼ cup blanched almonds, toasted
100 grams chocolate-covered marzipan sweets

Yum...a lovely autumn weather pudding, and you can add a touch of vanilla essence and sugar to flavour and sweeten if wished.

METHOD

1.  Finely chop the almonds and chocolate covered marzipan and mix together in a small bowl with the softened butter, or place all three ingredients in a mini whiz and finely chop.

2.  Wash and core the apples. Score round the middle of the skin using a sharp knife. Arrange them in a greased baking dish. Fill the cavity in the apples with stuffing. Pour the water or the almond liqueur round the apples.

3.  Bake for 35-40 minutes at 190°C until the apples are soft. Baste occasionally during the cooking. Serve hot with the sauce from the baking dish and warmed cream.
