Apple Turnovers

INGREDIENTS

2 sheet pre-rolled frozen puff pastry, defrosted
380 gram can Wattie’s Apples, sliced
milk or beaten egg to glaze
sugar for sprinkling and sweetening

METHOD

1.  Cut the pastry sheets in half on an angle to make 4 triangles.

2.  Sweeten the apples with a 1-2 tblsp sugar. Divide the apples evenly among the four triangles. Brush the edges on the pastry with a little beaten egg or milk and then fold over and press the edges with the tines of a fork to seal.

3.  Transfer to a greased or baking paper-lined tray. Brush the turnovers with beaten egg or milk to glaze and sprinkle each with sugar.

4.  Fan bake at 200ºC for 10-12 minutes or until the pastry is deep golden and well-risen. Serve warm with lashings of whipped cream or yoghurt.
